One of our favourite Mau Mau pieces - Plastic Fish is an illustration of man's folly of endless plastic production and consumption, as the bigger bully in the food chain.
Over the last 60 years plastic has become central to our lives and mankind has subjected the planet to a tsunami of plastic waste. Plastic takes 20-1000 years to degrade, therefore it stays around in the ocean for years and is not a viable method of disposing plastic. Plastic can be toxic to any form of life.
There are believed to be 46,000 pieces of plastic in every square mile of ocean - they clump together in country-sized patches in systems known as 'gyres'. At least two thirds of the world’s fish stocks are suffering from plastic ingestion.

The Orangutan, one of the planet's Great Apes and sadly among its most endangered creatures, due to unprecedented habitat loss. Our third collaboration with famed wildlife artist and conservationist, Gary Hodges, partners THTC with the Orangutan Foundation, the UK’s leading organisation for the conservation of orangutans and their tropical forest habitat.
The Orangutan Foundation has been instrumental in securing and restoring forest habitats, rescuing and releasing orangutans as well as successfully lobbying for greater protection for these great apes.
25% of sales from this t-shirt go to the Orangutan Foundation and will protect over a million acres of tropical forest habitat and key populations of the critically endangered orangutan.
